What is Bridgestone ?

Founded in 1931 by Shojiro Ishibashi, Bridgestone is one of the leaders of the international tyre market (along with the French Michelin Group). Today, one out of every five tyres comes from Bridgestone.

Present all over the world, Bridgestone’s annual sales for 2008 were 2,623 billion yen (around £18  billion).

In the field of technological innovation, the Japanese firm developed the studless winter tyre (1982).

Since the end of 1990, Bridgestone has been present in the automobile competition universe, particularly in Formula 1, and motorcycle racing (Motor GP).
