Tyre balancing and alignment
Both these operations are essential for your safety, comfort and for the life of your tyres and the mechanics.

Balancing and alignment are two essential operations that can optimise the performance of your tyres. They are carried out when the tyres are fitted and should be repeated when necessary.
A balanced tyre turns about its axis without vibrations, thanks to a proper distribution of weight. For perfect balancing,counterweights are placed at certain places on the rim. This operation can only be carried out by a specialist, as it requires specific measurement equipment.
Good balancing enables:
- Greater driving comfort;
- Increased tyre life;
- Less stress on parts of the vehicle.
Alignment consists of optimising the angles and alignments adjustable on your vehicle (king-pin inclination, camber, castor, alignment) by taking account of manufacturer data and the tyre wear.
Each vehicle has its own specific geometry settings, drawn up by the manufacturer. They must be strictly adhered to in order to meet the requirements of road holding, stability, steering precision and to prevent abnormal wear on the steering and on tyres.
A steering wheel that vibrates is usually a symptom of bad balancing or the loss of a counterweight. Don't delay: have your wheels balanced by a specialist.
